Peter S. Sloane successfully represented Honeywell International Inc. in a domain name arbitration filed against r9.net. Honeywell International Inc. v. r9.net,
FA0503000445594 (Nat. Arb. Forum May 23, 2005). Respondent r9.net had
registered the domain name Honeywell.net without authorization from
Complainant Honeywell. An individual named "David Honeywell" filed a
Response to the Complaint on behalf of "honeywell.net" service members
and various Honeywell family members. "David Honeywell" contended that
he maintained a variety of services to Honeywell family members through
honeywell.net such as e-mail messaging and online web-based e-mail
services. The Panelist agreed with Honeywell that "David Honeywell"
lacked any standing to submit a Response on behalf of r9.net.
Accordingly, the Panelist found that the Complaint filed by Honeywell
satisfied the necessary elements to obtain an order transferring the
domain name honeywell.net.
