NEWS FROM OSTROLENK, FABER, GERB & SOFFEN, LLP
May 2004
Douglas A. Miro, Marc A. Lieberstein and Douglas Q. Hahn successfully secured an emergency ex parte seizure order from the
Southern District of New York on behalf of an Ostrolenk client that is
a leading manufacturer of handbags and other accessories. The seizure
order was attained in only four days. Ostrolenk executed the ex parte
seizure of thousands of counterfeit handbags, as well as documents and
computer records from a Lower Manhattan store on the same day that the
seizure order was signed, before the counterfeit merchandise could be
distributed to other retailers. OstrolenkÕs seizure saved the client
immeasurable time and money in tracking down individual sellers as well
as in shutting down a major distributor of counterfeit merchandise in
New York City.
